The largest Carnival festival in Madeira with allegorical parades, samba and parties across the island — 11 a 22 de Fevereiro 2026.
The Carnaval da Madeira is one of the island's largest events, featuring spectacular allegorical parades, samba groups, elaborate costumes and parties across the island. The Allegorical Parade of 14 de Fevereiro is the highlight, with decorated floats, dancers and live music. The Mischievous Parade of 17 de Fevereiro has a more humorous, participatory character. In Câmara de Lobos, the Carnival Monday parade is considered by locals to be the island's most authentic experience.
