MIUT (Madeira Island Ultra-Trail) is one of the most demanding trail races in Europe, crossing 115 km of Madeira's rugged terrain from Porto Moniz to Machico, with over 7.000 meters of positive elevation gain. The route passes by Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro, the island's highest points. Besides the ultra, there are shorter distances (Marathon, Advanced, Discover) for all levels.
